With the world gearing up for the final showdown between the two candidates in the November election, the popular blockchain-based game "Off the Grid" has just introduced an exciting gameplay feature for its fans. Titled as "Save the Democracy"
In this game, you can either play as either Repupblican candidate Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.
Off the Grid officially announced this news through X post saying the "Save Democracy" content pack is available now for download. The Skins are available to those who pay a premium Pro subscription fee.
Characters build on reference from the two candidates
In their X post, Gunzilla Games stress that both the characters are fictional, and the game does not endorse any politicians as none of them represent the game's political values.
But these two characters have too much similarity to the two presidential candidates to ignore. For example, the blue character (Harris lookalike character) has a punchline that says "looks like a one-perceter to me, tax that f*****," which enchoes Harris' stance on making the wealthiest US citizens pay more taxes.
While the character in red (Trump lookalike character) has a punchline that says "I need a new right arm... Make sure it's not made in China," with a voice that is striking similar to Trump's.
The characters also have emotes where they build a wall and some cool-looking weapons. Overall, it was a funny take on the current elections and this smart move by the developers will definitely give hype and traction to the game.
Community shocked and intrigued by the game
The similarity this game has two to the presidential election has made many call this game insane and wild.
Crypto gaming commentator Stache, for example, has told his 103,600 X followers that "this is the most INSANE content pack" has has ever seen.
Gamer "Mat" also wrote in an X post, "It feels like April Fools, Halloween and elections all at the same time."
The launch of this game comes just days before the presidential election, with several analysts suggesting it could trigger volatility across the entire crypto market.
A Potential Impact on Crypto Markets?
Developed by Gunzilla Games, Off the Grid enters players into a reality show where the characters has robotic limbs that give each of the characters special abilities.
And the goal of the game is very simple: the characters are tasked to fight till the death.
The extraction-style battle royale shooter is currently live on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X, as well as on PC via the Epic Games Store.
Off the Grid has yet to frontline its crypto features. However, there are plans to implement an NFT marketplace, as well as a GUN token on a dedicated Avalanche subnet called GUNZ.
For now, these plans appear to be in the distant future, with no firm timeline for when they will be implemented. That said, the GUNZ testnet has been racking up millions of wallets and daily transactions, which appear to be related to player activity.
Notably, VanEck’s private crypto fund recently invested in Gunzilla Games, marking its second venture into Web3 gaming. VanEck’s Matt Maximo commented, “We see crypto as a tool to enhance gaming experiences and improve monetization strategies,” signaling a deeper interest in blockchain-driven gaming innovation.
With the mix of political satire and gaming excitement, Off The Grid has managed to capture a unique cultural moment, all while engaging audiences across gaming and crypto spheres alike.
